KUCHING: The 1BFF Pending Sports and Recreational Club, a platform that encourages the youth to think of ‘out of the box’ activities and events while creating a fun network for all, is inviting members participation to enrich the young communities here.

The club is open to all Sarawakians regardless of age, religion, race or even political affiliations as the club offers a platform to strengthen youth development in all aspects most notably education, sports, recreation and social.

“The club first started because we believe in the potential of our Youth and that they are the future, our future. The club will strive to enrich the youth community particularly in Kuching Division by organizing and providing a wide range of recreational and sports events, as well as educational and self-improve programmes.

“The objective of the Club is to promote all forms of sports, recreation and social activities through an active calendar of events as well as to participate with other clubs and associations.

“The Club aims to train and imbue a winners’ attitude and to promote youth participation by giving them the opportunities to engage in the sports of their choice at various skill levels,” said club president Keith YS Sim to The Borneo Post here yesterday.

He added that the main factor that drives the club forward would be the fun and exciting ‘out of the box’ activities and events that will be organized as early as January 2013. He mentioned that 1BFF club consider itself as a network of best friends who likes to work and spend time together through healthy sports and recreational activities.

To celebrate its first year formation, the club will be organizing the first of its kind, annual open futsal competition in the city. The team which has managed to win the cup for three times will get to keep the trophy.

In addition, a unique ‘Backathon’ competition will be held in May which requires participant to jog backwards. The charitable event was scheduled to take place for three days. Further details for these events will be announced at a later date.

The soft launch of the 1BFF club will take place in January, to be incorporated with its debut SME seminar programmed to educate entrepreneurs on ways to apply for loans and other related matters.

“We will try to create yearly events that will be incorporated into the state calendar of events. Do note that we are trying to do something different here. We lauded the many sports, recreational and charitable events here which are very successful.

“This Club offers something different in the sense that we are trying to organize and gather all these individuals and members of the public to enhance their potentials in the same platform. We also want to create a network so that everybody can find each other or know who to look for when they are in need of a particular service and such,” continued Keith.

Highlighting that the inaugural committee members ranges from those from various backgrounds and profession, he stated that the Club encourage member’s participation from all sectors and industries.
